Impressive 2nd place in PUBG Global Championship!

After an impressive performance, Heroic's PUBG team secured a second-place finish and prize money of USD 666 000 in the 2021 PUGB Global Championship (PGC), ending just four points shy of the championship title.

The PGC saw the 32 best teams in the world compete in Incheon, South Korea for the championship title in a tournament which spanned over 30 days and 145 matches in total. After an incredibly close battle for the title, it was Chinese team Newhappy that ended up taking home the championship just ahead of our guys in Heroic.

Despite a heartbreaking defeat in the Grand Finals, going home with a second-place finish is above the expectations the team had going into the tournament. The team's coach, Oliver Santasalo says:

– Before coming to South-Korea, we had a goal to make it to Grand Finals weekend. We didn't know really what to expect since our team didn't have much LAN experience under our belts. We succeeded better than we anticipated. With this result we have shown that we are a world class team with a great mentality. I am so proud of the team and how much we improved during this journey we got to share here in South-Korea

The Heroic players' individual performances were also acknowledged: Luke "TeaBone" Crafer was selected for the PGC 2021 All-Star team and Paavo "PaG3" Voutilainen took home the trophy for most eliminations.

The results from PGC just add to an overall very strong year of performance for Heroic and further strengthen our position as one of the top esports organizations globally.

As this was final event of the year for our teams, we (the administration) want to say a big thank you to our players for all the exciting moments and great results in 2021. Our teams will be back in 2022 to chase even better results and more titles.
