The Heroic CS:GO team was acquired by Heroic Group AS in february 2021 and has in a short time risen to the top. The team is currently ranked as the #6 best professional CS:GO team in the world. The danish lineup consists of Casper "cadiaN" Møller, Jakob "Jabbi" Nygaard, Rasmus "sjuush" Beck, Martin "stavn" Lund  and Rene "TeSeS" Madsen.

Our Counter-Strike team qualified for their third consecutive Major, after beating Vitality and OG 2-1 in the tie-breaker series.

We enter the tournament with Legend status, the highest possible seeding, as one of eight teams. Once again, a massive performance from the players and performance staff. 

The ESL Gaming hosted Rio Major will be the first ever held in Brazil and is the most anticipated Major in history. In total 24 teams will play it out over a two-week period to crown the Major champion. The tournament starts on the 

, while the Legend stage starts on the November 5th.

We are happy to announce that our Performance Team is expanding! There´s no doubt that our athletes need the best preconditions surrounding them to succeed. That is why we have hired Kasper Straube Hansen as a physiotherapist in the Performance Team.

The role as a physiotherapist in Heroic has already started and the team has been welcoming Kasper with the victory in ESL Pro League. Kasper is excited while telling about his favorite moment in Heroic so far:

– My favorite moment in Heroic is definitely when cadiaN clutched and we won the ESL Pro League. It was not only the winning and the clutching, but the whole atmosphere that day and whole week was crazy. When I agreed to join Heroic, I was not really sure what I had actually said yes to. That day it became clear to me that I was in it for the long run.

Kasper has a long experience from the sports scene. He has been working with both professional and semi-professional soccer for many years, as a physiotherapist and osteopath. However, his interest for esports has been growing recently and he finally found his home in Heroic.

– I have been really interested in eSport because it is really entertaining as a spectator. My interest grew further when I started working with a couple of eSport players in my private clinic. I was not bored of soccer, but I felt attracted to working with eSport players because I saw an opportunity to work with them in more than just one direction. Working with eSport players is demanding, but I now have the opportunity to improve both their general health and also performance, which is both really interesting for me. I share a lot of common ideas and approaches with the rest of the performance team as well, which motivates me a lot, says Kasper.

The physiotherapist has also made up his mind about the CS:GO team, not only as athletes, but also on a social level. He shares his thoughts:

– On a social level, I think the CS:GO team is awesome. All of them are more or less different to each other and it is really cool to see so many different personalities coming together with a common goal. I can already feel that they have a good chemistry both in-game and out-game, which I think makes my job a lot easier. They are obviously really skilled when it comes to Counterstrike, but I also see a lot of similarities with other athletes from other sports when it comes to preparation, dedication and performance. They are extremely detail-oriented both on and out of the server and I think that we should praise Troels a little bit for what he has done for the team when it comes to their mentality.

Why does an esports team need a physiotherapist?

Heroic is an organization that works hard every day to become the nordic powerhouse within esports. To reach our goal, we will need world leading teams which perform at a high level. We are currently on that level with PUBG and CS:GO. The Performance team is one of the keys to success in the teams.

– The Performance team is a team of individuals specialised in their own field, focusing on bringing their expertise to the team and players as individuals. Their job is to ensure and help us to get the very best performance out of our players. As one of the best teams in the world, in respective esport, every single percentage that can be gained will be an advantage when fighting in the top tournaments we aim to win, says CGO of Heroic, Erik Askered.

Kasper adds his thoughts about the impotence of the athletes being pain free:

– At Heroic, we want our players to have the best conditions to perform. Therefore, we want our players to be painfree. We do not want them to sit with an aching neck or a painful wrist. Therefore, treatment and prevention of those injuries are of outmost importance to us. Also, we know that physical activity improves a lot of aspects, which are important for us to perform as good as possible. Among other things, physical activity will improve your ability to learn, remember, concentrate etc. Also, I think that we have a huge responsibility when it comes to general health and stress. When your fulltime job is to sit in front of a computer you increase the risk of various diseases, which is something that no employer should allow their employees.

Expanding the performance team

Heroic are the reigning champions as we will be back on LAN for the first time in 500 days. Our athletes have already left for LAN at IEM Cologne, which is known as one of the biggest and most prestigious tournaments in CS:GO.

This year IEM Cologne will consist of the 24 best teams from every part of the World, locked in a Hotel and only travelling to a nearby TV studio to play the matches - until one lifts the trophy. We checked in with our team as they arrived in the esport capital of Germany to prepare for their 9th of July debut.

– It's easier to focus now, when we have a physical presence in Cologne to play IEM Cologne, instead of being at home and playing tournament after tournament from the same location. There won’t be any internet or pc disadvantages, some guys struggled during the online period due to high ping which is really sad in my opinion, says Heroic lurker and star player Ismail “Refrezh” Ali.          

Teams spend 6 months qualifying, before they assemble in the Esport Capital of Europe to fight for a trophy only lifted by the all time greats in the game. Young gun René "TeSeS" Madsen is bubbling with excitement about being back on LAN at IEM Cologne.

– I am so excited to finally take the next step in my career, to prove to myself that I can perform in big offline tournaments. I have never played in front of a really big crowd and I have no idea how I will react when I hopefully some day will experience it. To win cologne back to back would be so insane. This is the last tournament before the playerbreak, so I expect every team will give it their all, also because it’s the first offline event for a long time. We’ve had a lot of practice time before going into this tournament and I can say with 100% confidence that we have done everything we can to perform our best, says René.

Heroic was written into the history books of esport when we won the last installment of the tournament and we will be the team to beat at this year's 1 million dollar brawl. Casper “Cadian” Møller shares his thoughts about defending the amazing results the team has shown earlier, in the online tournaments.


– I hope we can defend our trophy from last year, and I really want to give our two new players the same feeling that we had last time. Also, lifting the trophy on LAN, and making sure that all the questions asked towards our online level, which has impressed everyone, will be answered with showing a similar or even greater level on LAN.

Heroic enters partnership with Red Bull 

On the 26th of February, we announced the signing of Ismail “refrezh” Ali.

On the 11th of April, just 44 days later Heroic won the ESL Pro League trophy in an epic manner. Instant impact!

Since then, the team has had many great experiences together both on and off the server. On the server, refrezh helped us not only win the ESL Pro League Season 13, but also to get us into the playoff-stages in both the PGL Major Stockholm and the PGL Major Antwerp. Just last week he lifted the Pinnacle Cup Championship trophy with the rest of the team in Lund. Talk about ending on a high note!

At Heroic, our team has always felt like a family, and Ismail has been a huge contributor to the atmosphere and social side of the team. He is very hard working, does insane things on the server and is just a great teammate.

Since the beginning of this 5-man roster, we have always believed that the team were capable of great things. However, during the last year Heroic has been highly competitive in the major tournaments but has struggled to take that final last step. Therefore, despite all the qualities of refrezh, we have decided that it was time to try something new.

Refrezh will remain under contract with Heroic while he explores new opportunities. We will assist him in any way needed.

The Heroic CS:GO team made the fans go crazy with excitement during BLAST Premiere! The games were exceptional; great clutches, high intensity and small margins. Exactly the way we like it in CS:GO. After an even final against Russian Gambit, we ended up in 2nd place in the tournament. Heroic is ready for revenge - anytime.

It's not only good spectator content when teams such as Gambit and Heroic meet in the Finals. The games had some unexpected turns, when both Gambit and Heroic won eachothers map-picks. This resulted in a 1-1 score, going into the last map of the day. Stavn describes yesterday´s games with excitement:

– On Train, Gambit managed to adapt on their CT-side and change positions in the middle of the game. It's rare that a top team changes such critical positions in the middle of a game, but they have the ability to do so, which is really impressive. It's always fun playing Gambit, as by now, we both know each other pretty well, and you have to be the one being a step ahead in every situation.

The legendary win in ESL Pro League against Gambit, one week ahead of BLAST Premiere, has set some traces in the strategies for both teams. Stavn adds:

– We won eachothers map-picks, which was quite interesting. I think we both had adapted and learned from the previous games, and i think that was a direct result of improvements from both teams in some way. We had a great opportunity to close Train on our CT-side, but they had some great clutches and it came down to the smallest of margins. Well played to them!

Our CS:GO team has not been bootcamping for BLAST Premiere, which naturally led to some changes in the dynamic of the team. However, this does not change the level of performance and good energy in the room. Mental coach, Troels, describes the energy behind the scenes:

– The guys showed great energy during Blast and it was our first big tournament from home as a team. Of course it is a different kind of energy than when we sit together but we do a lot of stuff to make it feel more like being together - such as an online huddle for the players and me. Yesterday's matches was hard fought. I believe that a lot of preparation had gone into it for Gambit just like it did for us. Last time we won and this time they did. I am sure that next time we face each other again will be a great game!

After what´s been a hectic period for our CS:GO team with important matches every week, the team has deserved some days off-tournament to gather energy and prepare for DreamHack Spring. This seasons DreamHack tournament is quite special to the team for one specific reason and they have started the preparation already:

– DreamHack will be our first tournament with Hunden back on the server, which we are all looking forward to. We are going to spend the next week improving our game and  minimizing our mistakes. Dreamhack masters spring is an important tournament coming up. We have a bootcamp planned for the tournament, and we are going to do our best to take a trophy home with us, says Stavn with a wink.

– As our preparation for DreamHack we will first and foremost take a few well deserved days off. Then it is back to the grind and to the plans that the performance team has made together with Hunden whose return to the scene will be at DreamHack.

Ever wondered how the daily life of a Heroic athlete looks like?

We have asked Stavn about his daily life as an esports professional. He shares a normal day in his life:

– A normal day consists of a practice schedule; 11:00 - 18:00. Waking up at 9:00/10:00, taking a shower, getting some breakfast and going for a walk before the day starts. Our practice concists of 2 hours of talk, dryrunning on the server and improving our tactics. After that we have 4 practices with a 1 hour break between the first two and last two. After practice we eat dinner and pretty much always return back to the PC to grind. Whether it's FPL, faceit, demo, we typically always try to put in the extra hours. Obviously there is room for friends and family as well, but if you want to reach the top you have to put in the extra hours!

We are happy to announce that Heroic’s Counter-Strike team has signed Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard, who will immediately join the team on bootcamp to prepare for Cologne.

After an extensive application process with expressed interest from more than 40 organizations, it is today publicly announced that Heroic will enter the Louvre Agreement and become a long-term member of the prestigious ESL Pro League (EPL).

Heroic is now a part of Louvre Agreement 

Heroic CS:GO was crowned as the champions of Pinnacle Winter Series after beating Copenhagen Flames in the Grand Finals. The team showed great performance by winning all matches 2-0. Heroic decided to participate in Pinnacle Winter Series as a warm-up before ESL Pro League S15.

Heroic is previous champions of the prestigious tournament, ESL Pro League S15. Our professional CS:GO team will be fighting for a $832,000 prize pool. The tournament will take place on LAN in Düsseldorf, but due to the pandemic there will be no audience allowed. 

The first groups have already started playing their official matches. Heroic and the rest of Group D will start playing 30rd of March. The competitors is ranked as Top Teams in the world, accourding to HLTV world ranking. Teams and world ranking in Group D is the follwoing:

Champions of Pinnacle Winter Series

We are happy to announce that former professional handball legend, Lasse Svan, joins Heroic as performance coach. As a handball player Lasse Svan has won everything there is to win, and with over 8 years of experience as a performance coach we are certain that he will play an important role in the team. He will immediately join the team to prepare for the BLAST Premier Fall in Copenhagen.

Heroic welcomes Lasse Svan

Heroic’s Counter-Strike team has qualified for the Champions Stage of the PGL Major Championship after beating Vitality (world rank: #3), Astralis (#8) and Copenhagen Flames (#10).



The PGL Major Championship is the most prestigious Counter-Strike tournament of the year and the prize pool of USD 2,000,000 is the largest in Counter-Strike’s history. By reaching the quarterfinals, Heroic is guaranteed to win minimum USD 70,000. The winner will take home USD 1,000,000.

In addition to the prize money, participating teams receive a share of the revenues from the sales of in-game items throughout the tournament, making the Major a significant revenue source for Heroic.

The Champions Stage will be played at Avicii Arena in front of an audience of more than 15 000 fans and will be the first event with a live audience in over two years. Quarterfinals are played Thursday 4th and Friday 5th of November, semifinals on Saturday 6th of November and the champion will be crowned on Sunday 7th of November.

We have officially crowned ourselves as the kings of ESL Pro League season 13. Never have we ever seen such a performance from any CS:GO athletes globally! Our CS:GO team brought the trophy and $200,000 home from the tournament, and they did it with style. 

The finals of ESL Pro League was an intense competition against Gambit. The team had to fight their way through 7 hours of games, with a 3-2 result. With over 400.000 viewers and a legendary game made by our athletes, there's no doubt that we are in the place where we belong. The mental coach of the team, Troels Robl, shares his thoughts about the huge victory.

– This is one of our biggest achievements ever as a team, to pull off a victory after such a short period of playing together. It was a big relief to finally win the ESL Pro League after 7 hours of hardcore competition. To be focused and on top of your game for such a long period is draining no matter the preparation you do. But I was confident in the team and their ability to do so as we are turning every single stone to find a percentage wherever it was possible.

The ESL Pro League tournament consists of teams from all over the world, competing to be the very best CS:GO team and a $750,000 prize pool. Ismail “refrezh” Ali, one of the winning CS:GO athletes, has excitement in his eyes while telling about the matches.

– I was speechless when we got our victory. The amount of work and focus we put in on a daily basis is so high, it was amazing seeing it pay off. The victory means a lot to me because it is a benchmark of what we are capable of. The thought of being a champion, not just winners, motivates me a lot. Honestly I don't think we have much to improve after such a game. The only thing would be to keep using Gambit's weaknesses because they didn't change their game, but it's counterintuitive to do the obvious thing, so we tried to be a step ahead.
