The Heroic team was acquired in february 2021 and have already established themselves as one of the biggest teams in PUBG. They ranked 2nd in the PUBG Global Championship 2021. The roaster consists of Luke "TeaBone" Crafer, Timi "Curexi" Tenhula, Benjamin "Beami" Steffensen, Paavo "PaG3" Voutilainen and Oliver "Ball1n" Santasalo.

PUBG

After an impressive performance, Heroic's PUBG team secured a second-place finish and prize money of USD 666 000 in the 2021 PUGB Global Championship (PGC), ending just four points shy of the championship title.

The PGC saw the 32 best teams in the world compete in Incheon, South Korea for the championship title in a tournament which spanned over 30 days and 145 matches in total. After an incredibly close battle for the title, it was Chinese team Newhappy that ended up taking home the championship just ahead of our guys in Heroic.

Despite a heartbreaking defeat in the Grand Finals, going home with a second-place finish is above the expectations the team had going into the tournament. The team's coach, Oliver Santasalo says:


The Heroic players' individual performances were also acknowledged: Luke "TeaBone" Crafer was selected for the PGC 2021 All-Star team and Paavo "PaG3" Voutilainen took home the trophy for most eliminations.


The results from PGC just add to an overall very strong year of performance for Heroic and further strengthen our position as one of the top esports organizations globally.

As this was final event of the year for our teams, we (the administration) want to say a big thank you to our players for all the exciting moments and great results in 2021. Our teams will be back in 2022 to chase even better results and more titles.

Impressive 2nd place in PUBG Global Championship!

We did it again! Our PUBG team brought home the victory in ESL PUBG Masters, after some exciting games against the European Elite teams. 256 teams started the journey to the top, before the 16 best teams in Europe were left standing to fight it out for the ESL PUBG Master trophy - over a record breaking 18 matches!

We could not be prouder of the dexterity, determination and level of tactical mastery showcased by our squad. Heroic´s dedication to the game and hard work is showing great results.

The ESL PUBG Masters victory is Heroic's second major ESL triumph in two weeks, after the CS:GO team won ESL Pro League. We are a small organization experiencing rapid growth due to one of the most talented rosters in esports. We dare anyone to underestimate our heroes!


The PUBG team changed their roster recently, with the Danish talent Benjamin “Beami” Steffensen joining. Beami has not only been a good resource, but also shown that he is fitting perfectly into the team, being one of the top fraggers in the ESL final. Luke “TeaBone” Crafer shares his thoughts about the roster change:

– We just changed our roster so it’s really a double whammy, with Beami now joining us. This is the first tournament we’ve won as a team. Hard work does eventuelle pay off, we have found our groove.

ESL PUBG Masters gave us 200 PGC points, which means that we are currently in 1st place in the rankings on the way to qualifying for the  PCS4. The points gave the PUBG team a huge advantage on the path to PGC, the year's biggest PUBG event, but we will keep fighting and bring more trophies home. The games have just begun.

VICTORY IN ESL PUBG Masters!!

The marathon of collecting PGC points has just begun, and our PUBG team is fighting their way towards the first points of the season, in ESL PUBG Masters. Our team has qualified for the finals, which can lead to 200 points. We have had a chat with the team after the qualification, to check in and learn more about their strategies going forward.

Professional esports athletes do always spend time on improving, but also analyzing the previous games. Some of the games during PUBG ESL Masters were challenging for the team.

– I would use the word decent to describe our games. I feel like half of the games were pretty bad, and the other half was good. We will improve and learn from the experience by making our comms better, since that is the biggest issue we are facing right now. I would also like to highlight Beami's performance with mechanical skill that really showed in a couple of the games. The fights were instantly turned heavily to our favour by him making valuable solo play, says PUBG athlete  Paavo “PaG3” Vouttalien.

PUBG corp. has changed their rules and format for professional tournaments. It is more important than ever to perform on the Top Tier tournaments, such as ESL PUBG Masters. The coach of our PUBG team, Oliver “Ball1n” Santasalo, was never doubting on the athletes´s performance:


– The team performance was ascending throughout the qualification games. It's always hard mentally for the players to play a little amount of games to qualify for an important event like ESL Finals. However, we were confident that we could get through to the Finals from the qualifier, and that's why our performance was getting better, game after game.

There are four possible tournaments to catch PGC points this season; ESL PUBG Masters x2, PCS 4 and PCS 5. That makes even more pressure for the athletes to perform during their few chances this season. The strategy is already set for the finals of ESL PUBG Masters.

– We have already identified most of the areas where we need to improve as a team, and also as in individuals. This week leading to the Finals, we are going to focus on improving our communication and that we have all the fundamentals done properly, without rushing them. We have been focusing even more on the team energy this season. We want to improve as a team to have the ability to reset well for the next game or keep the momentum on our side. I would describe our energy during these ESL qualifiers as cohesive. We had hard games, where we didn't have the luck on our side, but we also made mistakes leading to bad results. The most important thing is that we never gave up. Every time a new game started we were ready for it as a team.

Qualified: finals of ESL PUBG Masters

We will be playing the finals of PCS4 and fight our way to the top of the leaderboards! The PUBG team was directly invited to the finals after winning the ESL PUBG Masters in the spring and will be competing for a prize pool consisting of more than $250,000. The best teams in the world will battle it out in the next 3 weeks and we’re looking forward to some highly entertaining matches!

The team feels confident about the tournament

PUBG corp. introduced PCS (PUBG Continental Series) in 2020 and will continue the success. The tournaments are among the most important throughout the year. However, the Heroic team feels confident, and they are ready to fight their way to the top.

– In PCS4, I expect that we will end up in the top 3, even though this format is a bit more RNG. I'm the newest member on the team and in the few months I have been here, I can say for sure that we have the skills to be the best team in Europe, says PUBG athlete Benjamin “Beami” Steffensen.

The team has been spending the last couple of weeks practicing, both in-game and outside of the game. Our PUBG athlete from the United Kingdom, Luke “TeaBone” Crafer, tells how the team prepares for the upcoming matches.

– We have been practicing a lot. We have done loads of studying, both in-game and outside of game. An important part of that job is to try becoming a better team member and human. I think the energy of this team is great now as well, I know we can accomplish anything with hard work, patience and practice.

What has the team done since the victory in ESL Masters?

The team had an amazing performance during ESL PUBG Masters, and they brought the victory home, which was a huge motivation for the team. Beami shares his thoughts about the performance.

– The ESL tournament taught us a lot as a team and for me individually. We learned to be more adaptive in the games, not stick too much to only one gameplan, and just be proactive as a team. Individually, I got more comfortable with not being in the front all the time as I was used to from previous teams. Since ESL PUBG Masters, we have been working on our playstyle to fit the new MC-Format better, since we are known as a kill heavy team and not to win that many games.

Invited to: PUBG Continental Series 4 Europe - Grand Finals

The following squads have received a direct invitation to the PCS4 Europe Grand Finals:

PCS4 is the biggest PUBG tournament globally. It is defined as a premiere global PUBG event, taking place in all regions of the World. Only the best teams will get the chance to compete and it is an honor for us to be invited - as this is the most important tournament of the year. The PUBG coach, Oliver Santasalo, shares his thoughts about the invitation:

– We are thrilled to be invited together with 6 other top teams to compete on the best level of competitive PUBG in Europe. Winning ESL PUBG Masters Spring was only the start for us and we are more than ready

The playoffs consist of three weekends full of elite esports. We can not wait to entertain you. Save the dates; 3 last weekends of June 2021 (12-13,19-20, 26-27).

Heroic is ready for PCS4!

Benjamin "beami" Steffensen joined Heroic in 2021. Ha has 3+ years experience on the professional PUBG scene.
